Kids only - soulful portraits of childhood

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us and allowing us to get to know you.
— Ashley, mother of two

Before the session

We meet for coffee, with or without your children. Or I come to your house so your kids can first meet me in their space. I learn about you, your children’s personalities, and your goals for this session. Maybe you want to remember your son missing his two front teeth, or the way your daughter twirls in circles for hours on end. And you learn about me so you’ll feel so comfortable the day of the session, that it’ll be easy to avoid telling your kids to smile or look at the camera.

During the session

Kids-only sessions can happen at your home, a favorite park, or any place where your children enjoy being themselves. I like to let kids be kids, which jives perfectly with a documentary approach to photography. Hands off. No posing. And children certainly appreciate not being told what to do so we can truly capture their personalities. In addition, I do take some time to make environmental portraits of your children. This may involve some ever-so-slight direction.

After the session

Once your gallery is completed, I come to your home for your ordering appointment. We first view your photos in a slideshow. I get to watch you view your child through my lens, which is the best part. Then together we select your favorite images and create a true piece of art. This may be a photo book, a fine art print, or a gallery wall of mounted prints. I'm present to help you choose which images may work best as wall art and where you may want to display them in your home. In the end, you have pieces that serve as beautiful art, lasting heirlooms, and a visual record of your child at this wondrous stage.

Kids-only session fees begin at $475. Albums begin at $880 and matted prints start at $150. I offer non-interest payment plans for all clients.
