Delivery Moments

Christine’s energy is very calm and relaxing. There were times when I didn’t even realize she was in the room capturing images. The word ‘amazing’ does not even do the images justice. I know how I felt at that very moment of his birth and I know in my mind what it was to see him for the first time. However, to be able to have those images forever and to be able to share them with family, and in the future with our son, is priceless. Christine is a true gem.
— Kristen, birth client and intended mother

First moments with baby

Seeing the first moments of our toddler meeting her new sister immortalized forever means so much to me and I’m sure it will to them in the future. Christine somehow managed to capture every moment on camera without being at all intrusive.

about DOCUMENTARY BIRTH PHOTOGRAPHY

I provide photography coverage during your labor, delivery and postpartum - no matter how long your labor (I pack a toothbrush, deodorant, and snacks). Yes, even in the middle of the night (I have my gear all set and am ready to roll at a moment’s notice).

Before your birth

We meet and I learn about you, your family and your pregnancy to date. We also discuss the logistics of having a photographer present during this intimate time. You learn about me, which helps avoid any awkward moments when I arrive in your birth space as you're in the throes of labor. We meet again during your third trimester, and review the coordination of having me at your birth and discuss any last-minute details.

During your birth

I am on-call for your birth at 38 weeks. You (or your partner or support person) keeps in touch with me starting at the first signs of labor. I am present from active labor, through your delivery, and up to one-and-a-half hours postpartum. I recognize that it is an honor to be in your birth space and I'm deliberate about working around all healthcare professionals and support people, in order not to interrupt events as they unfold.

After your birth

Once your gallery is completed, I come to your home for your ordering appointment. We first view your photos in a slideshow, and you relive your story and your birth through my lens. For most mothers, much of the labor and birth journey feels surreal. To view that experience from a different perspective is priceless. Then together we select your favorite images and create a true piece of art. This may be an album, a fine art print, or a gallery wall of mounted prints. I'm present to help you choose which images may work best as wall art and where you may want to display them in your home. In the end, you have pieces of beautiful art, lasting heirlooms, and a visual record of one of the most important moments in your life.

Birth photography coverage begins at $1800. Albums begin at $880 and matted prints start at $150. I want high-quality birth photography with a professional to be accessible to as many families as possible. Therefore, non-interest payment plans and gift registries are available to all clients.
